Register now for the Amsterdam Marathon 2009 |
Online entries will be accepted at this website up to and including 20 September 2009 or until the maximum number of participants have been reached, whichever is the earlier. This year the Amsterdam Marathon celebrates its status as the Netherlands Championship Marathon. Last year was our most successful year with a record 24,057 participants. We therefore suggest you enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The 1928 Olympic Stadium will of course once again be centre of attraction on Sunday 18 October. Athletes from more than 70 countries will take part in Amsterdam, giving it its international allure. Here you can choose not only for a marathon, but also for the Mizuno half marathon, Menzis 7.5km and several youth runs. All of which are on the programme on Sunday. In addition we offer you for three consecutive days an appealing Marathon Market in Sporthallen-Zuid, a Pasta Party in a marquee in front of the Olympic Stadium and on Saturday, a 5km Sky Radio Good Morning Run in the Amsterdamse Bos.
However, many choose to spend the weekend enjoying the numerous tourist attractions that Amsterdam has to offer. Allow yourself to be surprised by the Olympic Experience in the Olympic Stadium. Enjoy a tour of the canals by boat or pedalo. Take a walk along the unique ring of canals or visit the Wallen or the majestic Dam. Shop in the contemporary stores of Kalverstraat or visit the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh museum.
